Randomly came across this site with information about the great "Shake out" here in California. Oddly enough I don’t recall ever learning what to do in case of an earthquake. Not a lot of those in Detroit from what I remember. Interesting little game and tidbits here. More educational on this post, and a little more fun with Contribute

So I decided to grab the new cs4 package upon it’s release and now i’m starting to dig into new software. This update, in fact, is a product of a little tampering with Contribute. So far so good. Some great updates to the software. Two thumbs up from this guy!

Ok, so i’m browsing a little bit tonight and happen upon Google’s little illustration for the Olympic Games. I have no idea if this is the running Google treatment for the whole of the Olympics, or if it’s a day by day thing, or even hour by hour. What strikes me, however, is that it’s a cow. At least I think it’s a cow. Am i wrong? And why? Why an Olympic cow? And especially for the event of gymnastics? Am I missing something? Or am I safe thinking that a gymnast probably wouldn’t enjoy the idea of being compared to a cow? Anyone? Seriously, comments more than welcome on this one…

Check out this clip posted on qbn today. A sweet modernization of tag artistry. Can’t imagine where this will take the design / art world. Yay technology! YAY!

If that’s too much for you, enjoy some old school etch a sketch action…

The site of the day on FWA is just a pleasure to look at. Take a look and poke around for some fun animations.

And another find on the FWA site, some soccer loving adidas action. Enjoy.

Tuple. Yes, tuple. Thanks to wikipedia i came across this word in a definition of the word bogey as used in golf. Don’t ask. Anyways, upon following the link in wikipedia i learned it’s meaning and feel ever more intelligent as a result. Let’s celebrate the beneficial addition of wikipedia to our ever expanding technological world.
I also feel like i need to drop a little post Christmas designer mention. I honestly didn’t find anything really captivating going on with the holiday promotional sites this year. Send me links if you differ, at first thought Starbuck’s “It’s Red Again” site didn’t make much sense to me, and the oh so popular “Elf Yourself” idea, well, join the ranks of “let’s do something that’s been done before, just a little different.” Way to think outside the box. My response, i dug up this old joy from many Christmas’ past and figured i’d post with a link while it still exists. An awesome little snowball fighting game that I don’t think got the attention it deserves. Thank you, Barbarian Group, for several years worth of holiday fun. For me at least. Oh yeah, and thanks Discover Card for doing something that doesn’t scream promotion.

What brought all this on? Well, in some daily browsing I came across a little Valentine’s Day promotion. Yeah, already. Another year rolls around and I can feel my angst coming on already. Maybe not. Maybe so. Enjoy this if you’re one of those types who’s phone has everything to do with Valentine’s Day…

The last few weeks of sunsets here have been splendid. I’m fortunate to have a westward facing window high enough to see the broad horizons and after sitting through another lovely viewing thought to share a photo a colleague caught of last monday’s sunset. Enjoy!

Made a trip to this little hill top over the weekend and got some lovely pics. Another local site off the checklist. And something to blog about since it’s been forever…
